"Hands pointing upward will rim memorial fountain" by Herb Fraizer

Sculptor Stephen Hayes of Durham, N.C., is diligently creating plastic castings of 36 pairs of hands that will adorn the Anson African Burial Memorial fountain until Saturday. The fountain commemorates the 36 individuals buried in the 1700s near the Charleston Gaillard Center.
